Jelena Buac

“What drew me to family law was a genuine interest in people and their unique stories.

I value the opportunity to work closely with clients during important and challenging life transitions.”

I have exclusively practiced family law since 2015. In every case, regardless of complexity, I prioritize responsiveness and clear communication with clients so that they can make informed decisions and feel supported throughout the process.

I have represented clients in all areas of family law, from helping families develop child-focused parenting plans to resolving complex support and property division issues involving high-net-worth or self-employed individuals.

Whenever possible, I prefer to take a practical and resolution-oriented approach, working toward favourable settlements outside of court. I strongly believe in the effectiveness of alternative dispute resolution, and am a mediator-in-training with the Ontario Association for Family Mediation.

Some matters cannot be resolved out of court, and for those I provide steady guidance and advocacy through all stages of the litigation process. I have successfully represented clients at trials and arbitrations.

Away from the office, much of my time is spent keeping up with my young children. When I can, I enjoy yoga, exploring local trails, and getting lost in a good book.
