Jelena Buac

“What drew me to family law was a genuine interest in people and their unique stories.

I value the opportunity to work closely with clients during important and challenging life transitions.”

I have exclusively practiced family law since 2015, first at a large full service firm and then as a partner and co-founder at our specialized family law firm.

In every case, regardless of complexity, I prioritize responsiveness and clear communication with clients so that they can make informed decisions and feel supported throughout the process. I have a particular interest in working on cases involving professional corporations, self-employed individuals, and family businesses.

Whenever possible, I take a resolution oriented approach, working toward favourable settlements outside of court. I strongly believe in the effectiveness of alternative dispute resolution processes such as negotiation and mediation. For matters that cannot be resolved outside of court, I provide steady guidance and advocacy through all stages of the litigation process.

I have served as an executive committee member and treasurer with the Middlesex Family Law Association (MFLA), as well as a committee member supporting the London Health Sciences (LHSC) Board of Directors.

Away from the office, much of my time is spent keeping up with my young children. When I can, I enjoy yoga, exploring local trails, and getting lost in a good book.
